UmaFashion Designer | Activist | Social Entrepreneur
Uma is a Fashion Designer, an activist and a Social Entrepreneur for over 25 years. She heads several social projects in the area of livelihood and women empowerment. Her projects have received recognition from UNESCO and GOI INDIA.
Uma lives in Auroville, a spiritual community in the south of India where she also runs a community living space “Rohini” which I call my home when I am in Auroville. Uma has a gift which allows participants to access a deeper understanding of self where change happens. She is a co-author of I AM EVERY WOMAN, a collection of 15 extraordinary life stories about courage, strength and resilience with a mission to empower Every Woman (and Man).
